In a significant move aimed at simplifying international travel, visa-free airside transit has been announced for Indian travellers transiting through Germany while travelling to or from the United Kingdom. Previously, following Brexit, Indian passengers were required to obtain additional transit visas when routing their journeys through UK or EU airports, even when they remained within the international transit area. This requirement often increased costs and administrative complexity for travellers and airlines alike. The revised transit arrangement is expected to facilitate smoother connections, reduce processing delays, and encourage greater passenger traffic through European hubs, benefiting both travellers and international aviation networks.
